Calibration/Verification
Instru-Met has the capability to calibrate tensile testers, compression testers and a whole list of force applying and force measuring testers as well as load frames on-site at your facility. Our force calibration capacities include forces from .02 pounds force up to 120,000 pounds in compression and tension. We provide calibrations worldwide to our customers who use small bench testers as well as the large hydraulic test machines. The list of equipment we service includes:
Tensile Testers Pull Testers Universal Test Machines
Strand Testers Creep Testers Stress Rupture Testers
Compression Testers Fatigue Testers Peel Tester Adhesion Testers
Instru-Met uses precision Interface Gold Standard load cells, dead weights, precision gauge blocks and other traceable precision equipment to calibrate your test machine and testing devices. All our force standards are calibrated by Morehouse using their world class dead weight testing frame allowing our calibration standards to maintain some of the lowest uncertainties in the industry. We provide only accredited ASTM E4 and ISO 7500 force calibration maintaining an unbroken chain of traceability. Instru-Met uses precision gauge blocks and micrometers calibrated by A2LA accredited test labs to maintain accuracy, repeatability and traceability to the national standards laboratory length standards. Using this equipment we calibrate extensometers, deflectometers, LVDT’s stroke and linear displacement devices using A2LA accredited ASTM E83 and ISO 9513 procedures. Instru-Met is also accredited to calibrate compressometers, temperature parameters and many various dimensional devices such as: calipers, micrometers, crosshead displacements. We are accredited to calibrate tensile tester crosshead speed using ASTM E2658 procedures maintaining full traceability to the National Standards.
During annual or semi-annual visits for calibration, Instru-Met provides a complete in-field preventative maintenance check on all the testers we calibrate. The checks we perform are all inclusive and restore the tester to as close to new as its intrinsic condition will allow. Our procedures are designed to extend the life and reliability of your tester by maintaining the condition and identifying issues and potential issues that could cause tester failures and future downtime. Most repairs and preventative measures can be implemented on the spot most of the time and a complete report will be provided verbally and documented to allow the users to take further action if needed or be aware of potential future service issues.
Our calibration service calls can also include a Full Preventative Maintenance of your test frame.

All our load cells are calibrated in accordance with the most current edition of ASTM E74 and ISO 376. All calibrations performed in the field are traceable to NIST and are performed in accordance to documented and controlled procedures. Instru-Met uses Interface Gold Standard load cells to calibrate load cells in the field ensuring that uncertainty is kept to a minimum. Upon completion of our visit to your facility Instru-Met will provide Calibration Certificates for all the items calibrated at your facility in digital format via e-mail or we could provide hard copies printed and mailed. Our Quality Assurance system complies with the applicable requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 & ANSI/NCSL Z540-1
